CLUB RULES
A. Procedure:
- Keep the club gate locked at all times. Never leave gates ajar or blocked open .
- Both pools may be used only when a lifeguard is on duty. This is for safety and mandated by the Club insurance carrier .
- Members are responsible for damage caused by themselves, their children, or their guests.
- Adult members are responsible for the conduct of their children.
- AN ADULT MUST ACCOMPANY CHILDREN IN THE CLUB AT ALL TIMES DURING OFF SEASON .
- During the On Season, sign in with the gate attendant upon entering the club. Indicate key number, member name, number of family members entering and number of guests if applicable. A guest pass MUST be on record with the gate attendant for each guest, once a day. Special arrangements may be made with the Board of Directors for house guests. Two guest passes are required of each guest for use on the weekends and holidays .
- A member's guest is permitted use of the club only while that member is present at the club.
- Members are responsible for the observance of all rules by their guests. Review rules with guests prior to or immediately upon entering the club .
- Abuse of the guest pass policy is an annoyance to the rest of the membership. Guest passes may not be sold to nonmembers.
- Bicycle, skateboard and scooter riding is not permitted at the club. This includes the Tennis and Basketball courts.
- Animals are not allowed at the club except for uniformed service animals.
- The loud speaker is for paging and announcing by life guards. Do not use the system for any other purpose. Never use it to amplify music.
- Notify the Head Lifeguard of any parties to assure proper lifeguard coverage, eliminate overcrowding to confirm availability. This is necessary for insurance purposes.
- In order to assure the comfort of all members and guests, there will be a limit of 2 parties per day.
- On holidays when maximum capacity is expected, larger parties may be discouraged.
- Members will be responsible for clean-up of their party area .
- Picnic tables may not be reserved. Picnic tables are available on a “first come” basis. Someone should physically be present at the Club to reserve an area.
- Chairs and lounge chairs are for sitting or laying, ONLY . Please put chairs and lounge chairs away after use.
B. Conduct and Safety:
- ADULTS, CHILDREN, AND GUESTS WILL OBEY ALL INSTRUCTIONS OF THE LIFEGUARD. THE LIFEGUARD HAS ABSOLUTE AUTHORITY TO ENFORCE ALL CLUB RULES .
- Children who repeatedly fail to follow club rules may be ejected from the pool for the day and may also be restricted to use of the club only while their parent is in attendance.
C. Courtesy:
- Place refuse in the containers that are provided.
- Leave the patio, barbecue area, tables, etc., clean when you leave . Adults using the patio area should be careful to see that any breakable picnic accessories are removed when the area is vacated.
- Return all sports equipment and supplies to the office when you have finished using them.
- Do your best to be considerate of others.
POOL AREA RULES
A. Procedure:
- An adult swimmer may request a lap lane to be set up by the lifeguards at any time, but no more than one lap lane will be set up at any one time.
- The wading pool is for non-swimmers only. A parent must accompany a child while the child is using the wading pool. A lifeguard MUST be ON DUTY during ANY use of EITHER pool.
- Children, including guests, who have not passed the swimming proficiency test, must be accompanied and supervised by a parent while using the pool. Swimming proficiency test (swimming the length of the pool) may be required by the lifeguard upon demand.
B. Conduct and Safety:
- Swim only when lifeguard is on duty. DIVING AT SHALLOW END OF POOL IS NOT PERMITTED.
- Keep all food and glass away from the pool and decking surrounding the pool.
- Do NOT run or engage in rough play in or around the pool. Water guns and water balloons are NOT allowed on club grounds.
- Stay away from the diving board when it is in use.
- One person at a time on the diving board.
- Divers should always be sure the pool area beneath and around the diving board is clear before diving.
- Toys of any kind are not permitted in the pool.
- Do not throw any objects, including balls, in the pool.
- Cut-offs are not allowed in the pool.
C. Courtesy:
- Do not use the pool if you have a communicable disease, diarrhea, or an open sore.
- Use, and encourage children to use, the toilet facility frequently.
- Shower before entering the pool.
- Do not allow babies with regular diapers on in either pool. They must have on special swimming diapers.
- Do not chew gum while swimming or expectorate in the pool, or on the decks.
DEFINITIONS
A. An adult is any individual who is 18 years old or older.
B. On Season is decided by the Board of Directors each year, and the club members are notified by mail. On Season may be considered any time that a lifeguard and gate attendant are on duty.
Check posted hours at the Club and in mail-outs. (Hours of operation vary due to weather and scheduling)
C. Off Season is any time that a lifeguard and gate attendant are not on duty.
D. Chabot Swim Team is a separate organization. Members are encouraged to have their children join the swim team. Contact any member of your Board of Directors for swim team information.
E. Club Member Definition : When a family purchases a membership, the children of that family and any grandparents living in that household are members of the Club. These people will remain members of the Club as long as the parents own the membership. If any of the children get married and/or have children of their own, his or her spouse and their children will need Guest Passes to use Club facilities.
